Allowances under the Ambulance & Patient Transport Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Meal allowance (overtime) | $25.13 per meal | If you work overtime for more than 2 hours and your employer did not give you notice the day before, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $25.13. |
| Meal allowance (away from station) | $20.08 per meal | If you are required to be away from your station at a meal time and cannot return, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $20.08. |
| Incidental allowance | $20.18 per day | If you are required to stay overnight away from your usual station, you are entitled to an incidental allowance of $20.18 per day. |
