Your classification level under the Diving (Recreational) Award determines your minimum pay rate. Being classified one level too low can cost you $2–4 per hour — more than $3,000 per year for a full-time worker.
Classification levels
Level 1Dive master
Base rate: $26.27/hr · Casual: $32.84/hr
Level 2Dive instructor
Base rate: $27.91/hr · Casual: $34.89/hr
