Funeral Industry Award Allowances 2025–26

Allowances under the Funeral Industry Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |

| Exhumation allowance | $114.32 per body | If you are required to perform an exhumation, you receive $114.32 per body exhumed. |
| Leading hand allowance — in charge of 3 to 10 employees | $42.74 per week | If you are directed to be in charge of 3 to 10 employees, you receive $42.74 per week. |
| Leading hand allowance — in charge of 11 to 19 employees | $64.10 per week | If you are directed to be in charge of 11 to 19 employees, you receive $64.10 per week. |
| Meal allowance | $16.62 per meal | If you are required to work overtime and a meal break is taken during overtime, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $16.62 per meal. |
| Stand-by allowance — Monday to Friday | $16.03 per period | If you are required to be on stand-by during Monday to Friday, you receive $16.03 per stand-by period. |
| Stand-by allowance — Saturday, Sunday or public holiday | $34.19 per period | If you are required to be on stand-by during Saturday, Sunday, or a public holiday, you receive $34.19 per stand-by period. |
| Tool allowance | $6.06 per week | If you are required to provide and use your own tools, you receive $6.06 per week. |
| Vehicle allowance | $0.99 per km | If you are required to use your own motor vehicle for work purposes, you receive $0.99 per kilometre. |
| Uniform reimbursement | $0.00 | If your employer requires you to wear a uniform and does not provide it, you are entitled to reimbursement of the cost. |
| Laundry reimbursement | $0.00 | If your employer requires you to launder your own uniform, you are entitled to reimbursement of reasonable laundering costs. |
| Vaccination reimbursement | $0.00 | If your employer requires you to be vaccinated for workplace health and safety purposes, you are entitled to reimbursement of the cost. |
