Miscellaneous Award Allowances 2025–26

Allowances under the Miscellaneous Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |

| First aid allowance | $21.37 per week | If you hold a current first aid certificate (e.g. St John Ambulance or equivalent) and your employer has specifically appointed you to perform first aid duties, you are entitled to an additional $21.37 per week. |
| Leading hand — 3 to 10 employees | $47.01 per week | If you are a team leader or leading hand directed by management to be in charge of 3 to 10 employees, you are entitled to an additional $47.01 per week. |
| Leading hand — 11 to 20 employees | $69.45 per week | If you are a team leader or leading hand directed by management to be in charge of 11 to 20 employees, you are entitled to an additional $69.45 per week. |
| Leading hand — more than 20 employees | $88.68 per week | If you are a team leader or leading hand directed by management to be in charge of more than 20 employees, you are entitled to an additional $88.68 per week. |
| Meal allowance — overtime (first meal) | $23.59 per meal | If you are required to work more than 1 hour of overtime after your ordinary finishing time without 24 hours notice, and a meal is not provided, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $23.59. |
| Meal allowance — overtime (subsequent meal) | $21.39 per meal | If your total overtime exceeds 4 hours, a further meal allowance of $21.39 applies for each additional meal period worked. |
| Vehicle allowance | $0.98 per km | If you agree with your employer to use your own motor vehicle on the employer's business, you are entitled to $0.98 per kilometre travelled. |
