State Government Award Allowances 2025–26

Allowances under the State Government Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Meal allowance (overtime) | $22.67 per meal | If you work overtime and are not given a meal, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $22.67. |
| Vehicle allowance | $0.99 per km | If you are required to use your own vehicle for work purposes, you are entitled to $0.99 per kilometre driven. |
| First aid allowance | $15.12 per week | If you are appointed as a first aid officer and hold a current first aid certificate, you are entitled to $15.12 per week ($786.05 per year). |
