Textile & Clothing Award Allowances 2025–26

Allowances under the Textile & Clothing Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Meal allowance (overtime) | $20.96 per meal | If you work overtime for more than 2 hours and your employer did not give you notice the day before, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $20.96. |
| First aid allowance | $16.78 per week | If you are appointed as a first aid officer and hold a current first aid certificate, you are entitled to a first aid allowance of $16.78 per week. |
| Laundry allowance | $3.55 per week | If you are required to launder your own work clothing, you are entitled to a laundry allowance of $3.55 per week. |
