Passenger Vehicle Award Allowances 2025–26

Allowances under the Passenger Vehicle Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |

| First aid allowance | $20.37 per week | If you hold a current first aid certificate and are appointed by your employer as the person responsible for first aid duties, you receive $20.37 per week. |
| Meal allowance | $16.72 per meal | If you are required to work overtime and a meal break falls during overtime, you are entitled to a meal allowance of $16.72 per meal. |
| Vehicle allowance | $0.98 per km | If you are required to use your own motor vehicle for work purposes, you are entitled to $0.98 per kilometre. |
| Articulated bus allowance | $16.72 per shift | If you are required to drive an articulated bus, you are entitled to an allowance of $16.72 per shift. |
| Uniform reimbursement | $0.00 | If your employer requires you to wear a uniform, the employer must reimburse the cost of purchasing and maintaining the uniform. |
| Log book / work diary reimbursement | $0.00 | If you are required to maintain a log book or work diary, the employer must reimburse the cost. |
| Medical examination reimbursement | $0.00 | If you are required to undergo a medical examination as a condition of employment, the employer must reimburse the cost. |
