Supported Employment Award Allowances 2025–26

Allowances under the Supported Employment Award are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.
Current allowances
| Allowance | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| First aid allowance | $21.69 per week | If you are designated as the first aid officer and hold a current first aid qualification, you are entitled to a weekly first aid allowance. |
| Laundry allowance | $0.70 per shift | If you are required to launder your own uniform or special clothing. |
| Leading hand allowance (3-10 employees) | $1.27 per hour | All-purpose allowance for Grade 4 and below employees in charge of 3-10 employees. |
| Leading hand allowance (11-20 employees) | $1.90 per hour | All-purpose allowance for Grade 4 and below employees in charge of 11-20 employees. |
| Leading hand allowance (more than 20 employees) | $2.41 per hour | All-purpose allowance for Grade 4 and below employees in charge of more than 20 employees. |
| Meal allowance — overtime | $14.06 per shift | If you are required to work overtime and a meal break is not provided, you are entitled to a meal allowance. |
| Toilet cleaning allowance | $3.52 per shift | Payable when required to clean toilets. |
| Vehicle allowance | $0.98 per km | If you are required to use your own vehicle for work purposes, you are entitled to a per-kilometre allowance. |
