Fitness Award — Allowances

Allowances are extra payments for specific conditions, skills, or expenses. They are one of the most commonly missed entitlements after penalty rates.

Broken shift allowance$17.25 per shiftIf you work a broken shift (a shift with an unpaid break of more than 1 hour between periods of work), you are entitled to a broken shift allowance per day.
First aid allowance$3.25 per shiftIf you are the designated first aid officer and hold a current first aid certificate, you receive a daily first aid allowance.
Leading hand / supervisor allowance (11+ employees)$55.81 per weekIf you are responsible for more than 10 employees. Full-time: $55.81/week. Part-time/casual: $1.47/hr (max $55.81/week).
Leading hand / supervisor allowance (1–5 employees)$30.44 per weekIf you are a leading hand or supervisor responsible for 1 to 5 other employees, you receive this allowance. Full-time: $30.44/week. Part-time/casual: $0.80/hr (max $30.44/week).
Leading hand / supervisor allowance (6–10 employees)$41.60 per weekIf you are responsible for 6 to 10 employees. Full-time: $41.60/week. Part-time/casual: $1.09/hr (max $41.60/week).
Meal allowance (overtime)$14.97 per mealIf you are required to work overtime, you are entitled to a meal allowance for each meal period during overtime. Not payable to casual employees.
Vehicle allowance (car)$0.98 per kmIf you are required to use your own car for work purposes, you receive a per-kilometre allowance.
Vehicle allowance (motorcycle)$0.32 per kmIf you are required to use your own motorcycle for work purposes, you receive a per-kilometre allowance.
